Solution Architect

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a Technical Solution Architect with 7 to 12 years of experience in Ecommerce engineering, with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Shopify plus or BigCommerce.
• The Architect will design, lead, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing ecommerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong architectural experience across one or more modern commerce platforms, including Shopify, BigCommerce, and/or Headless Commerce architectures.
• This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, UX teams, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into well-defined, robust technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end ecommerce architecture aligned with business goals and scalability requirements.
• Agnostic Architecture: Ability to efficiently lead solution design across one or more platforms including - Shopify, BigCommerce, and/or Headless Commerce ecosystems
• Technical Leadership:
  • Provide leadership in selecting the right tools, technologies, frameworks, and E-Commerce Platforms
  • Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns
  • Support cloud-native, API-first and composable architectures
  • Participate in technical reviews, estimations, pre-sales bids and solution proposals
  • Provide architectural governance throughout the project lifecycle
• Solution Implementation: Define system architecture, integrations, data flows, and deployment strategies. Produce solution architecture documents, data flow diagrams and API Specifications for complex omni-channel E-commerce requirements.
• Integrations: Design and oversee implementation of complex E-Commerce Omni-channel integrations including:
  • ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, CMS
  • Payment gateways, tax, shipping, and fraud solutions
• Optimization: Ensure high-performance, security, reliability, and compliance standards are met.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the pre-sales, design, product, and development teams to ensure seamless execution of E-commerce projects.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure that all E-commerce solutions comply with industry standards, best practices, and legal requirements including security, data-privacy and payment processing.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in E-Commerce solutions
• Ability to design and implement scalable enterprise-grade E-commerce solutions
• Experience in creating solution architecture documents, data flow diagrams, and API Specifications
• Experience working with global, multi-brand, or multi-region ecommerce implementations
• Strong Client communication skills and English Language proficiency.
• Hands-on architectural experience with one or more of the following:
  • Shopify / Shopify Plus
  • BigCommerce
  • Headless Commerce architectures (e.g., custom headless setups, or headless implementations using Shopify/BigCommerce)
• Strong understanding of:
  • Composable Commerce Architectures
  • Microservices and API-driven architectures
  • REST/GraphQL APIs
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare)
  • ERP integrations o Shopify Liquid and online store 2.0
  • Shopify Storefront API and Admin API
  • Shopify Functions & Checkout Extensibility
  • React.js, Next.js and Node.js (preferred for headless setups)
  • Version Control Systems
  • Performance optimization and monitoring tools
• Experience with both frontend and backend E-commerce technologies
• Strong knowledge of E-commerce domain concepts (catalog, checkout, payments, promotions, order management)
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization
• Relevant Certifications in E-commerce platforms or cloud technologies
