About the Role:
We are looking for a Lead QA Engineer to own and drive the quality strategy of our product. This is a hands-on role where you will design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks, lead regression and smoke testing, and ensure high-quality releases through CI/CD pipeline integration. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to enable fast, reliable, and scalable test automation across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end quality assurance strategy for the product
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Java and Playwright
- Lead regression testing, smoke testing, and end-to-end automation for web applications
- Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure automated tests are executed as part of build, deployment, and release pipelines
- Analyze test results, identify flaky tests, and continuously improve test reliability
- Define test plans, test strategies, and quality metrics for releases
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure quality at every stage
- Review automation code and enforce best practices, standards, and reusability
- Mentor and guide QA engineers, conducting code reviews and technical coaching
- Proactively identify quality risks and drive defect prevention initiatives
- Ensure proper reporting and visibility of test coverage, defects, and release readiness
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Strong hands-on experience with Java-based test automation
- Solid experience with Playwright for web automation
- Proven expertise in regression testing, smoke testing, and end-to-end automation
- Experience integrating automation suites with Jenkins pipelines
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong knowledge of test design techniques and QA best practices
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Ability to debug issues across UI, API, and backend layers
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Good to Have:
- Experience with API automation (REST)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Exposure to containerization (Docker)
- Performance or security testing experience
- Experience working in product-based companies or SaaS products
