About the Role:

We are looking for a Lead QA Engineer to own and drive the quality strategy of our product. This is a hands-on role where you will design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks, lead regression and smoke testing, and ensure high-quality releases through CI/CD pipeline integration. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to enable fast, reliable, and scalable test automation across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end quality assurance strategy for the product
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Java and Playwright
  • Lead regression testing, smoke testing, and end-to-end automation for web applications
  • Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure automated tests are executed as part of build, deployment, and release pipelines
  • Analyze test results, identify flaky tests, and continuously improve test reliability
  • Define test plans, test strategies, and quality metrics for releases
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure quality at every stage
  • Review automation code and enforce best practices, standards, and reusability
  • Mentor and guide QA engineers, conducting code reviews and technical coaching
  • Proactively identify quality risks and drive defect prevention initiatives
  • Ensure proper reporting and visibility of test coverage, defects, and release readiness

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java-based test automation
  • Solid experience with Playwright for web automation
  • Proven expertise in regression testing, smoke testing, and end-to-end automation
  • Experience integrating automation suites with Jenkins pipelines
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Strong knowledge of test design techniques and QA best practices
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Ability to debug issues across UI, API, and backend layers
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Good to Have:

  • Experience with API automation (REST)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Exposure to containerization (Docker)
  • Performance or security testing experience
  • Experience working in product-based companies or SaaS products
