About Shoebacca 

Shoebacca is a leading online retailer known for its vast selection of athletic and casual footwear from top global brands. With over one million SKUs and daily order volumes exceeding 10,000—especially during promotional spikes—their operations demand highly scalable, automated backend systems. In addition to their core DTC business, Shoebacca also operates white-label partnerships, marketplaces, and a dedicated recommerce division called BrownBox, specializing in open-box and refurbished products.

Overview 

Shoebacca has partnered with Kensium for more than eight years to modernize and scale its eCommerce infrastructure. Early work centered on Magento customizations and integration support, but by 2024 Shoebacca fully replatformed to Shopify, Acumatica, ChannelAdvisor, and Loop Returns. Today, Kensium’s connectors and integrations power a unified, high-volume commerce ecosystem designed for agility and growth.

Managing nearly a million SKUs and handling 10K–15K daily orders, including dropshipping and warehouse fulfillment.

Inventory not only existed in Acumatica warehouses, but also flowed from NAFTA feeds and third-party sources—requiring custom logic to read, map, and sync accurately.

Maintaining Magento became costly, and its ChannelAdvisor integration was deprecated—pushing Shoebacca toward Shopify.

Designed and implemented an integration between Loop Returns and Acumatica for refunds, exchanges, and returns.
Automated reconciliation so all return activity updates customer balances and inventory in Acumatica.

Built real-time syncs of inventory, orders, and shipments directly from Acumatica to ChannelAdvisor, powering Amazon, eBay, and Walmart channels.

BrownBox Marketplace Enablement
Created serialization mapping logic to treat each refurbished or open-box item as a unique SKU in ChannelAdvisor and eBay. 
Customized lifecycle syncs to accommodate Acumatica’s lack of native serialization.

Legacy Foundation (Magento Phase)
Early Magento connectors were heavily customized to support dropshipping, third-party inventory feeds, and marketplace syncs.
This work laid the foundation for Shoebacca’s eventual migration, proving out the business logic that later moved into Acumatica and Shopify.
