Acumatica announced the release of 2022R2 on September 15th, providing new features and functions designed to increase usability and operations. With that said, as of January 2023, Acumatica 2021R1 will no longer be supported. It is critical to ensure your instance can be updated with security patches and necessary changes to your Acumatica instance.
Because 2021R1 will no longer be supported, there are risks associated with not upgrading. Below are just a few examples of the risks to your Acumatica instance if you don't upgrade:
If you choose not to upgrade, your retired version is moved to its own environment, and all updates are stopped. To cover the cost of migrating to the new environment, SaaS users are charged a 25% premium. However, retired versions are vulnerable to security breaches, OS errors, and more.
If you do not want to upgrade and your system is moved to an individual environment, you can change to a PCS license allowing you to host your version on-premises or at an external web host. However, the vulnerability risk remains the same and could still require an emergency upgrade. When this happens, you risk downtime and the inability to install security patches or any updates.
Below is the current supported version roadmap -
To upgrade your unsupported version of Acumatica, contact your Client Success Manager and set up an upgrade plan as soon as possible. Please contact us today, and create a plan to upgrade to the most current version and ensure that you experience no downtime or security risks.
