This March, Kensium Women's Network is proud to launch our Member Spotlight series! Each publication will feature three KWN members whom we think everyone should know more about. These women are intelligent, and talented, and are the type of people who deserve more recognition. Meet our March 2024 KWN Member Spotlights: Kenya Perez, Sariel Myllari, and Sowjanya A,
I am Kenya Montserrat Pérez Vázquez, and I hail from the state of Morelos, Mexico. I am the youngest of seven siblings. I made my way to Yucatan, Mexico, almost 16 years ago after marrying my husband (whom I met online 23 years back). Our lovely 15-year-old daughter brings immense joy to our lives. In my spare time, you can find me enjoying online games (a bit of a surprise) and crafting wooden furniture. I really admire the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.
I have always been someone who seeks positive feedback from others, and what better line of work than customer service? So, when the chance to work in support came up, I jumped at it without hesitation.
Getting the chance to join a company as significant as Kensium, and being able to showcase my ability to contribute value to the organization, was truly important.
One huge challenge was my apprehension about using English in the workplace and being able to communicate effectively. The second biggest challenge was confronting the task of assimilating into a new company with unfamiliar methodologies, processes, and tools. However, the key to overcoming this obstacle was to have faith in my abilities and persuade myself that I could succeed.
I really enjoy dancing and playing video games.
Every task has its appropriate time and place.
I quickly pick up new skills through imitation, whether it's languages, processes, techniques, or anything else.
Do not allow others to diminish your strength. If you desire something, you are just as capable of achieving it as anyone else. Be proud of yourself because there is nothing more beautiful than being a woman.
My name is Sariel Myllari and I’m a Marketing Coordinator with Kensium’s Creative Services department. Originally from Israel, but I’ve been calling Los Angeles home for the last 14 years. Outside of work, I enjoy spending my time outdoors, spending time with my dog, and practicing photography.
I’ve always been intrigued by marketing and the creative side of advertising and storytelling. But I also find strength in managing projects, so being a marketing coordinator is the best combination of both.
Constantly learning different types of tasks outside of my “role.”
English is my third language, so it was a challenge to learn. But the more you speak and practice, the better you will get over time.
Photography, pottery, volunteering, and outdoor activities.
Balance is key.
I think it might still be hidden!
Chase your goals and learn from one another :)
I am a Data Analyst for the Kensium billing department. I am well-known for timesheet reminders and for always providing support to my department. I am very lovable and helpful, enjoy actively doing new tasks, dedicated to my work.
During COVID, I switched careers. I went from being a school teacher to a data analyst, and it's a completely different routine and culture. I feel the biggest accomplishment in my career is feeling empowered to pivot.
I started work in the billing department without any knowledge or experience. Slowly I began to understand the flow of things, the responsibilities of my department, and how to implement automation.
Yoga helps me a lot. I recently attended 30 days of Hatha Yoga Sessions and completed 108 Surya Namaskar in 60 minutes!
I do not push today’s work to the next day. I follow priority and accuracy. I receive excellent support from my husband, as well.
I am a good dancer.
