Our operational centers offer the following features highly secure environment with multiple levels of physical and data security

Physical Security:

Physical Security is one of the most important aspects Kensium takes very serious about.

  • Security personnel are deployed at all entry and exit points. Every person entering the office premises is required to sign-in in an employee/visitor register
  • Production floor is protected by a digital card scanner (an RFID scanner, with Employee Badges containing the RFID code) that allows only the authorized persons into the production room. This access data is active for 3 years
  • Employee Badges contain a Photo ID, along with emergency information and the RFID chip inside.
  • Only authorized movement of material and people allowed and recorded in an inward/outward register
  • Mobile phones are not allowed into the technical or production room

Data protection and Data security:

Data is exchanged with clients over a dedicated internet connection, via an E-1leased line. The E-1line is not encrypted, as it is a dedicated 1:1 connection coming from the bandwidth service provider ending directly at Kensium's doorstep. However, this is a secure channel based on the type of connectivity which requires dedicated hardware to be configured individually at Kensium's office as well as at the exchange to send/receive the data. Data from clients is loaded to a dedicated Linux-based FTP server located in California, US. Data is then downloaded to the local server at Kensium's operation center via a secure FTP (SFTP) protocol, which is built on SSH-2 protocol. In addition, Kensium also has a SSL enabled server that uses 128-bit SSL certificates for transferring data (this requires the client certificate to be setup at the client). These options are available on two different servers that are used for transferring data.

Access Control:

Access to information and business processes is controlled based on the requirements of business and security and security measures have been taken to prevent unauthorized data access.

  • Internet access is restricted to the server/technical room, and computers on the production floor are not connected through internet
  • A proxy server logs any public network or internet access from within the facility
  • No external disk drives such as floppy, CD readers/writers are allowed on any of the computers on the production floor
  • All computers have USB ports disabled to prevent access via USB-based mass storage devices

The USB ports located at the front of the computer chassis is physically disconnected, and the ones that are located at the back of the computer which are directly present on the motherboard are disabled on the BIOS, which is password protected.

  • Input devices such as Keyboard/Mouse are connected via a PS/2 interface.
  • Each employee is provided with a unique login with industry standard login/password restrictions.

All Servers and desktops on the network are protected via Anti-Virus software that is constantly kept updated with the latest virus database.

Critical windows, and other related software updates are distributed to the desktops via an Update Server (Windows Update Server), and all machines are kept up to date with the latest patches and security updates.
